Habitat:
Flaggy marble at the mouth of Harwoods Hole.
Notes:
Unnamed species allied to Carex sponirostris but favouring montane calcareous substates of the north-western Sotuh Island. Culms stout, sheaths crown when fresh, leaves bronze-green to dark green when fresh, mixed male/female spikes common, utricles trigonous, narrowly elliptic to elliptic, abruptly narriowed to a prominent beak.
