Notes:
Trees 10-15 m tall with broad billowing canopy. Branchlet hairs fine, patent with occasionally appressed, longer hairs present. Foliage distinctly dark glaucous green with lamina tinged pink/wine red. Uncommon, scattered on roadsides and in canopy gaps along the wetter, western side of the main Volcanic Peaks, and nearly sympatric with K. serotina (which occurs at a slightly higher elevation on the Waimaring Plain). Specimen has many characteristics of a potentially distinct entity found on Mt Egmont (see AK 281981, AK 288039).
