Habitat:
Locally common with Ackama rosifolia, Weinmannia sylvicola, Quintinia serrata, Cyathea smithii and Hebe aff acutiflora. Confined to an area of about 200 m squared. Growing in "colonies" of apparently even aged trees. This specimen from a juvenile sapling 1.2 m tall growing at edge of secondary regrowth forest near rough pasture of retired farmland.
