Notes:
Large clump in low-lying area at edge of industrial yard. Plants stiff, erect, branched, almost shrubby, ± 80cm tall. Stem swollen at nodes, red, glabrous. Leaves hairy when young, particularly on veins and edges. Mature leaves glabrous except edges & midrib. Very occasional blotches in young leaves. Ochreae long, tight on stem (not flared), hairy, long cilia on edge. Some have dark band of colour half way up. Flowers white; 5-7 stamens, 2-3 stigmas; 5 tepals. Seeds very shining, brown.
