Pieces from a single 1.2m tall shrub growing in a highly fragmented, swamp forest remnant located near an oxbow. Specimen growing under Podocapus totara var. totara amongst Melicytus micranths. Mature foliage adaxially yellow-green to dark green, abaxial surface dark maroon fading with age dark green maroon, buds maroon.Inflorescences erect, flowers prior to anthesis dark mauve changing to white on anthesis. Collection includes flowering piece and side shoot to show maroon coloration of abaxial leaf surface.
