Habitat:
Open forest on steep south-facing slope.
Notes:
Small tree c. 3 m high. Leaves dark green and slightly shining above, deep reddish-brown indumentum beneath. Flowers in dense cluster. Corolla 3.5 - 3.7 cm long, deep rosy-crimson, just opening. Filaments white. Style pink. Near upper limit of species. Abundant a little lower down.
