Understorey in rather open Tsuga-dominated forest.
Notes:
Small tree c. 3 metres high with slender stem, ? a young tree, evergreen. Leaves not fragrant, deep shining green above with pale midrib and veins, glaucous beneath. Flowers cream. Scattered.
