Valley bottom, low mixed conifer and broad-leaved deciduous forest.
Notes:
Deciduous shrub c.3m high, open habit. Young leaves with pink petioles and midribs. Flowers pale pink with white inside petals at anthesis, not very fragrant. A late-flowering plant of this common species.
