The species is found only in the windswept feldmark areas at the top of the main range and is officially listed as rare in Australia (in the latest ROTAP listings (Briggs and leigh, 1996)). Its range covers approximately 0.3% of the Australian alpine zone by area, with a pitiful altitudinal range of 2059-2186M. DNA voucher.
