Habitat:
River bed, among stands of tree, pussy & osier willows.
Notes:
Thicket-forming shrub 3-4m high. Shoots light green. Leaves pale grey silky beneath. Male catkins (2 out-of-season ones only on cut shoot) with yellow anthers and black ovate-rhombic bracts. Fairly common.
