Habitat:
Indigenous forest, in gully bottom, understorey.
Notes:
Erect woody trunk c.1m high and to c.15cm diam. Stipes black, grooved above; basal scales brown. Pinnae scarcely shining; pinnule venation prominent. Sori becoming shining black. A fairly common species but only a few plants seen with a stout trunk. Sheets A to C
