Habitat:
Vegetation: growing in open to sheltered sites in grassland to shrubland with many native and exotic species including Hieracium lepidulum (Stenstroem) Omang (J.R.Hosking 1835) and Hieracium pilosella L. (J.R.Hosking 1837)
Notes:
Locally abundant (many thousands present) rhizomatous herb to 60cm high. Rosette leaves in this area concolorous, hairless or with scattered hairs above, scattered hairs always present on margins and midrib below (sometimes also scattered below), 3.5-8 × 0.7-1.4 cm. Plants without cauline leaves or with 1-2 small ones near base. All flore536447ts yellow and with ligules that have 5 teeth at the tip.Involucral bracts dark green with black hairs, some gland-tipped. Almost finished flowering at this time.
