Part of type gathering. ISOTYPE of Dicranella vaginata var. longifolia Dixon & Sainsbury in Sainsbury, Trans.R.Soc.N.Z. 75: 171 (1945). (Although the subulae are much less twisted than typical for D. punctulatum, I believe this material belongs here. It is clearly a Ditrichum and not a Dicranella. The cells of the shoulders are unistratrose; sexuality is clearly dioicous. Allan Fife, October 1999.)
