Cultivated on large tree. Massive climber with thick, rope-like stems. Petiole typically c.65cm, above narrow channelled. Lamina pendent, a typical one c.80 x 45cm; pinnae extending to midrib at maturity, curving forward with obliquely truncate apex; perforations none, middle pinnae to c.27 x 10cm. Inflor. erect. Spathe remaining folded round spadix until falling, c.27cm long, including long acuminate apex and c.12cm wide when expanded and fallen, creamy yellow. Spadix c.20cm long x 4cm diam.; cream. Florets mostly hermaphrodite; basal ones apparently only female but probably stamens fallen. Sterile portions absent. Sheets A to C (Photographs)
