Habitat:
Established over replanted Pinus stand.
Notes:
Established over many hectares, and being kill-sprayed to release young Pinus plants. Stems to 1.5m long, radiating from crown on more or less bare ground. Stems forming cushion like mats over tree debris and low track windows. Perennial most woody, thick, truncate at base with spreading rootlets; multi-stemmed from crown. Seed production must have been very high to give the amount of cover. Fruits dry. Australian origin ? Volunteer growth on area including Acacia dealbata, Agrostis tenuis, Gnaphalium sphaericum, Verbascum virgatum, Senecio quadridentatus, with three other indigenous Senecio fireweeds. Also with a few plants of a tall Microlaena stipoides ? Flowering culms to 1.4m tall, Australian origin.
