Notes:
Common. Growing with Ascarina lucida, Cyathea smithii and Weinmannia sylvicola. Juvenile plant gathered in disturbed forest. Specimens light-green without distinct juvenile form typical of M australis s.s. The same form as that found on Norfolk and Chatham Islands, this form islocally present in Northland.
