Notes:
HOLOTYPE (adult foliage and inflorescence). ISOTYPE in CHR. Locally common with Ackama rosifolia, Weinmannia sylvicola, Quintinia serrata, Cyathea smithii and Hebe aff acutiflora. Tree up to 8m tall and 5m wide. Canopy foliage dull green suffused wine-red. Stipules yellow and basally blotched purple or red. Inflorescense pendulous, panicle stipe and rhacis purple-pink. Flowers pinkish white, scarcely scented. Specimen over 3 sheets: AK 253151, AK 253152 and AK 253153. Chromosome voucher 2n = 32, from cuttings sampled from this collection and grown on at the University of Auckland
