Habitat:
Chionochloa macra + Hebe venustula + Brachyglottis + Aciphylla scott-thomsonii shrub tussockland on hillslope.
Notes:
Female plant of 1 rosette, 1 spike. Rosette 920mm diameter. Sap clear. Lamina glaucous green, not orange on tinted strongly yellow on leaf sclerenchyma. Female head 1280mm long, 360mm wide. Fruit almost mature. Plants mostly above the altitude limit of A. glaucescens, but the two species are mixed just north of Kowhai Saddle in the Hapuku catchment. This species is both near the streams of the Kowhai River and on the steep bluffed hillslopes above Kowhai Saddle.
