Habitat:
Chionochloa pallens tussockland mixed with Chionochloa australis + Phyllachne colensoi cushionfield on beach.
Notes:
Sap milky. Female plants 40cm diameter, a single rosette. Leaves green to yellow green, never glaucous, leaflets not in one plane. Female spike 75cm, head 44cm long, 13cm wide, 4 sterile bracts at base of head; stem dark yellow, 8cm diameter.
