(identical with the Tasmanian Th.cyanea (Ldl.) Benth. which also occurs in Stewart Island, and is now regarded merely as a variety of venosa R.Br. Th.uniflora Hook.f. is sens. strict. is a synonym of cyanea. The North Island plant included in uniflora by Cheeseman is regarded as a seperate variety of venosa. (see Trans.R.S.N.Z. 76.194.58 which was the result of comparing the North Island jordanon with the Tasmanian cyanea and before the latter was discovered in Stewrt Island.) Just what is the position in the South Island will be decided by field work at present in progress.
