Habitat:
On north slope, open, young plantation.
Notes:
Spreading tree about 6m high, rather open habit. Trunk with greyish scales (collected). Shoots brown. Buds light brown. Foliage densely clustered towards branchlet ends, dark green and more or less shining. Cones about 13 x 9cm (open); umbo with sharp prickle. Cultivated as a Chinese species.
