Progeny of self of Leptospermum scoparium 'Kiwi'. W.Harris self 7/94 (1). Parent plant of the cultivar Leptospermum scoparium `Kiwi' was self pollinated in period 14-Nov-1993 to 24-Nov-1993. seed sown 10-Apr-1995. Seven seedlings raised. One is and extreme nanum dwarf not flowering 3½ years after sowing. Two were nanum dwarfs, one of which has died. This specimen has retained compact nanum form, with marked purple-brown foliage. First flowers December 1997 and again November - December 1998. Flowers strong crimson with black receptacle, given provisional cultivar name `Kiwi Kid'. The other five progeny were bushy to semi-spreading small shrubs like the parent.
