Notes:
Soft-wooded shrub about 1.5 m high; habit very open with leaves sparse and near branch ends only (plant dying of old age?). Plant downy and with scattered small prickles on shoots, petioles and leaf midribs. Young petioles and lamina suffused purple, often midrib above and margins also. Fruit pendent, 5-6 cm diameter, subglobose, orange, ± downy.
