Open place in front of streamside shrubbery, in mown area of grass.
Notes:
Succulent stemmed shrub nearly a metre high. Stems shining purplish-green. Leaves dark shining green above with pale midrib, rosy-purple rib beneath. Pedicels more or less glossy dark red. Calyx spur about 4cm long, very slender, pale green; remainder of dorsal sepal expanded widely, pale green with red margin and terminal mucro. Corolla flat, about 6 x 6cm (down and across), pink, often paler in centre and at base; petals about 2.8-3 x 2.0-2.9cm, broad obovate to suborbicular. Capsule fleshy, more or less obovoid, between 1 and 1.5cm long, glossy deep green flushed red. Probably spontaneous like others in the vicinity. Sheets A and B.
