Notes:
Vine, low climber. Leaves dark glossy green above. Pedicels curving upwards, purplish. Perianth divided into three parts, dark reddish-purple in upper parts becoming mottled reddish-purple and green towards base; lowest part at right angles to pedicel about 4cm long; strongly inflated; second part about 6cm long, more or less upright, protruding below orifice and with rounded lobe just above; third part to greater than 30cm long x 2-3mm wide, narrowly strap-shaped widening to second part. Stamen ring about 0.9cm long. Cultivated as Aristolochia pingatore (not in Index Kewensis) and said to have come from Argentina but not in Floras in CHR. (Determined as labelled, W.R. Sykes).
