Juvenile. Rather fleshy-stemmed herb, lianoid; stems rooting at nodes on ground or with adventitious roots when climbing up tree trunk. Leaves of three types. 1) Shoots on ground with leaves simple and basal lobes hastate and well developed; creamy variegations along midrib and main veins.2) Shoots on lower part of host tree trunk ± trifoliate or deeply 3-lobed; creamy variegations as above. 3) Shoots higher up trunk 5-7-lobed or foliate, pedate; not variegated.
