Notes:
Shrub c. 1.5 m high, probably pruned. Leaflets deep green above with impressed veins. Flowers erect, scarlet, c. 5.2 cm long to apex of the almost erect upper lip, this with diverging lobes; tube curving and ampliate, c. 3.3 cm to base of lower lip; lower lip lobes 1.4-1.6 cm long, ± oblong with rounded apices; lateral lobes sharply deflexed. Stamens exserted and curving forward. Style c. 9.2 cm, red. An uncommon plant on Rarotonga.
