Notes:
Large clump-forming grass, the stems 2.5 - c. 3 m high. Leaves distichous, nearly all strongly variegated (white with narrow green bands). Inflorescence a large panicle, rather diffuse, c. 70 cm long; spikelets pale silvery-brown. Probably a relic of cultivation.
