Sub-shrub c. 1 m high; branches few; shoots dark purple. Leaves foetid when bruised. Calyx c. 8 cm long to apex of triangular lobes, purple-spotted. Corolla always in 2 whorls; outer c. 15 cm long excluding apex 15 mm long; inner c. 20 cm long excluding apex c. 23 mm; purple outside, white inside.
