Notes:
Shrubs c. 2 m high with open, widespreading habit. Bark of shoots very tough. Flowers pale sulphur; petals are 4-5 x 3 cm, broadly obcuneate-oblique, strongly imbricate. Lobes c. 5 mm long, triangular; fruiting calyx reddish where fully exposed. Fruit c. 5 x 3.3 cm, ± ovoid ("cotton boll").
