Notes:
Tree c. 3 m high, grown from a rooted layer, parent tree nearby with massive trunk and canopy 17-18 m high. Branches very pale brownish, prickly. Leaflets dark shining green above, ± grey-green beneath. Flowers crimson-scarlet, i.e. standard; this being 4-5 x c. 3.5 cm, suborbicular but remaining folded. Wings c. 2 cm long, velvety dark purple. Keel c. 2.5 cm long, velvety dark purple in upper third; remaining part white. Filaments and style purplish. A number of trees and the dominant canopy species.
