Tree c.15 m high, trunk smooth and with buttresses, canopy dense. Leaves subcoriaceous, dark somewhat shining green, margins revolute; petiole swollen. Flowers fragrant, cream; petals fused at base ?, c. 10 mm long, otherwise linear and very crumpled and undulate. Stamens very short.
