Notes:
Rhizomatous herb with short pseudostems. Petioles to about 40cm high, including pulvinus 2-3cm long, last geniculate and inconspicuous, pink-purple (+ sheath) when young. Lamina to about 37 x 11cm, more or less elliptic, tending to slope downwards, dark green above with paler midrib, deep purple beneath with pink-purple midrib. Old inflorescence with bract approximately 8cm long, pink-purple. Sheets A and B.
