Colour = dull green. Also growing on granite boulders on beach at high tide mark, with mosses, liverworts, lichens.

Supplementary remarks:
Leaf margins plane; branches & leaves fine; setae rough; spores mostly c. 12 µm in immature capsule attached to gametophyte (more mature capsules are detached and empty of spores). The peculiar ranked, and not strongly collenchymatous exothecial cells in detached capsule is perhaps of some taxonomic use. Rather poor material.
