Herb with very short stems and flattened distichous leaf sheaths and petioles, these appearing brown (actually covered with fine reddish-brown dots); apical pulvinus purple; lamina purple beneath with pink midrib, medium green above with bands of pale silvery-green along some lateral veins. Sterile.
