Notes:
Succulent semi-scandent plant, with 2 or 3 flexuous stems, i.e. plant young; stems c.1m high. Leaves clasping stem the short marginal white spines girdling the stem; free part of lamina curled and twisted downwards. Inflorescence erect. Flowers dense, obliquely pointing downwards. Perianth c.2.8cm, tubular and scarcely widening, outer segment orange-red except for green apices to the lobes, the last 1cm long; base somewhat oblique; inner tepals pale yellow with green band near apex, ± oblanceolate, slightly > outer tepals and free to base unlike other tepals. Male and female < tepals.
