Habitat:
On small mound in river bed, adventive.
Notes:
Shrub c.1m high but partly washed over by recent floods. Shoots dark purple-brown. Leaves pale grey beneath, revolute. Catkins erect, female. Small patch but planted on main river bank nearby.
