Notes:
Succulent shrub with short trunk which is obscured by densely spirally arranged leaves. Leaves to about 20 x 5 cm, narrow triangular; concave above with a few spiny tubercles, convex beneath with copious spiny, whitish tubercles; margins prominently whitish spiny; apex with long subulate tip. Inflorescence erect; scape reddish. Bracts papery, aristate. Pedicels red. Perianth 4-4.3 cm long more or less cylindric, orange-red and slightly greenish at segment tips. Stamens slightly exserted; anthers orange-red. Style firstly subequal to stamens, eventually slightly greater than stamens.
