Notes:
Rhizomatous herb. Aerial vegetative parts purple. Leaves to about 50cm x 23cm. Inflorescence stems to about 1.5m high. Perianth dark reddish. Calyx 2.7 - 3.2cm long, dark red. Corolla 7 - 7.8cm long, pinkish-red; petals more or less lanceolate - elliptic. Staminodes 4 (including labellum) about 9 x 4.5 - 5.5cm, broad elliptic or elliptic-obovate, orange (labellum yellow towards base with orange dashes). Petaloid stamen similar in shape and colour to labellum but smaller (about 8cm long) and obviously asymmetric. Style about 5cm x 9cm, obliquely oblanceolate, glossy red in upper half, pale yellow beneath. A typical and common hybrid Canna cultivar with very asymmetrical flowers. Sheets A, B, and C.
