Notes:
Alocasia plumbea form. Rhizomatous herb, the rhizomes thick and becoming erect, forming a short trunk bearing leaves clustered at top. Petioles green, to c.60cm long in larger leaves; sheath green with membranous margin. Leaf lamina purple beneath, including main veins and midrib; veins with whitish glandular scales in their axils; upper surface of lamina deep green, scarcely shining; marginal leaf vein distinct beneath. Sterile. Cultivated as Alocasia x chelsonii, but this is an A. cuprea hybrid with whitish veins above.
