Notes:
Very heavy branches which turn upwards towards the tips; shoots very rough; terminal buds large, pointed, red-brown, wide-spreading fringed bud scales. Branch specimens collected high up tree. Tree c. 25 m in height, narrow pyramidal crown. Needles concentrated towards end of branches. Cones non-persistent. Bark thick, deeply furrowed, greyish in colour, except for fleshy exposed surfaces which are yellowish brown. GM 55/17.
