Habitat:
Fragmented and secondary forest remnants on steep sides od gully in marine terrace.
Two Melicope ternata trees present (the only ones known between Waitotara and Otaki). Trunk 20cm diameter at 1m above ground, branched from near base. Leaves lemon-scented when crushed. Foliage yellow-green; Flowers cream. Fruit. Many seed but no seedlings seen. (Fenced early 1995).
