Habitat:
Near old house site on coast, on lava.
Notes:
Large clump-forming herb with thick fibrous rootstock, not collected. Leaves rather flaccid and almost horizontal if drought conditions. Inflorescence c. a metre high. Bracts and calyx lobe tips spiny, the whole tinged purple. Corolla 4cm or more long, whitish with pale brown veins. A number of clumps and spreading.
