Habitat:
Dune slack, by margin of Myrsine bushes.
Notes:
Succulent herb with erect stems. Leaves thick, often involute, purple-margined, no plantlets. Calyx inflated, c.4cm long, deep red on exposed sides, otherwise, pale green or streaked red. Abundant and forming a dense stand of many square metres.
