Notes:
A single wild plant. Fairly common in cultivation but rarely adventive. Inflorescence subglobose; bracts magenta. Branched herb (main stem broken off early) with red stems. Flowers in subglobose or capitate heads mostly c. 2 cm across; bracts magenta, papery.
