Waste place in open Cocos grove, amongst young regenerating Morinda.
Notes:
Shrub to c.1 m high; stems becoming long and flexible, arching over when mature. Leaves soft and downy, rather grey-green beneath. A small number of plants over 10 - 20 square metres. Corolla 3.5-4 cm across, saucer-shaped, orange; petals 2.2-2.5 cm long x 2.5 cm wide, very broadly obovate, strongly imbricate. Capsule flattened vertically, 1.6-1.8 cm across, with c. 25 carpel segments, blackish, appearing almost truncate across top.
