Waste place on village outskirts, middle of motu, open Cocos grove.
Notes:
Thicket-forming small tree with main trunks 4-6 m high and the branches ± horizontal, and forming a spreading canopy. Suckering extensively and covering c. ½ hectare. Leaves ± horizontal and in two ranks, soft and downy, paler beneath. Petals white, rather fugaceous, 11-12 mm long, including very short claw, 9-1- mm wide, ± broad obovate, slightly emarginate. Fruit globular, 10-15 mm diameter, becoming crimson; flesh very sweet.
