Cultivated in exposed site, with light Cocos canopy above.
Notes:
Clump-forming pachymorph bamboo open habit (presumably due to culling). Culms 4-5 m high (the whole plant growing poorly), green, becoming yellowish, erect to apex. Leaves dark green above, lighter green beneath. Culms 3.2-3.5 cm diameter in lower part, mealy white deposit when young with some short brown puberulence beneath nodes. Culm sheaths uniformly light green with yellowish-green or yellowish brown sheath laminas, sheath proper with dense dark brown hispid hairs, especially towards base. Branch complex with 1 large, central lateral. Rarely grown.
