Habitat:
Open coconut grove near church, ?cultivation relic.
Notes:
Large shrub c. 3 m high with ± horizontal branches. Bark very tough. Petioles and veins beneath lamina pale yellowish-green, latter elevated beneath. Leaves appearing distichous. Flowers white; petals 10-12 x c. 9 mm broad obovate or almost rhombic, rather caducous. Calyx pale yellowish. Fruit on pendent pedicels, globose, 11-15 mm diamtere, shining rose; flesh whitish, edible. A few plants only. Apparently wild.
