Notes:
Small (young) tree a few metres high. Shoots strongly angular when young, dark green. Leaves dark green above, glossy, orange-scented (almost mandarin-like). Flowers very fragrant, white, petals 1.9-2.2 cm x 7-10 mm, ± oblong and asymmetric. Fruit 6.5-7 x 7-8 cm across (1 only available) skin shining green and rather rough, depressed globose, flesh pale orange, semi-sweet. Seeds large. Fruit from another tree in valley, 8-9 cm across, c. 7 cm deep, dark shining green when collected, and thus still immature. This orange is the "anari Maori" and said to be the original one introduced to Rarotonga.
